After buying this house 2.5 years ago we did what we knew had to be done all along, We had the straight electric furnace replaced with a high efficiency Heat Pump. We got a 3 ton Bryant preffered series heatpump, with puron refrigerant, and 20 kw electric backup heatstrips. It keeps the house nice and comfy compared to our old furnace which did a good job heating but never seemed to push much air. We had the furnace installed which is a novelty for me, sometimes I tire of doing everything myself. It was nice for a change. Our electric bill was 35% less than it was this time last year and that is keeping the house at 65-68 degrees instead of 55-60 degrees. We got a tax credit because this furnace and heatpump met the criteria for a tax credit.
